Luxury trucks are gaining popularity, and fast. The days of the well-off senior executive pulling away from work in her Mercedes or BMW sedan may soon feature departures in a decked-out Mercedes truck that costs about the same. Now that their taste for large luxury has spread to the general public, automakers are happy to oblige. Here’s what NBC News says:
Yes, in case you missed it earlier, Mercedes-Benz is launching a luxury pickup. That may have sounded crazy just a couple of years ago, but the market today is ready, and the truck will, guaranteed, find buyers. Unless, of course, those potential buyers wind up in a Ford, Dodge, or GMC first. In addition to the Super Duty mentioned above, Ram has released the Limited Tungsten trim that is available on the 1500, 2500, and 3500 models. I built a 3500 Mega Cab 4×4 diesel-powered Tungsten model on the Ram website and brought the final price up past $76,000. You know, for research. Similarly, a GMC Sierra 2500HD Denali can set a buyer back close to $70,000. A person could buy one heck of a BMW sedan for those prices. If current trends hold true, though, people might rather have all the luxury of the BMW and the capability of a truck to tow and haul whatever they want. Just ask your friendly neighborhood rancher. Would you rather drive a luxury sedan or a luxury pickup? -tgriffith Find Certified Pre-Owned Cars and Used Cars in your area at CarGurus. Used Ford F-250 Super Duty Shopping for a new vehicle?
