Could Volkswagen become the next king of electric cars? This week marks a milestone in VW’s American resurgence as the company begins its rebranding efforts to become the leader in electric cars and SUVs. Enter the Volkswagen I.D. Crozz. The Crozz concept will get officially unveiled at the LA Auto Show and previews a production vehicle that should be welcomed with open arms into American garages. And charging ports. Yes, the I.D. Crozz is an all-electric SUV about the size of the Tiguan and should arrive as a production model for the 2020 model year. We should get a vehicle with 302 horsepower, an 80 percent charge in 30 minutes, and a range of 300 miles on a full charge. The Drive said,
Features like voice-activated doors are great for concepts, but we’ll hold our collective breath as to whether they’ll make it into production. The rest seems pretty reasonable, especially considering the production car is still about two years out. The Crozz won’t be the only VW EV, either. Also look for an electrified VW Bus, called the I.D. Buzz, at about the same time. Would you take the I.D. Buzz or the I.D.
